The Port of San Diego's Waterfront Arts & Activation department commissions artists to create works that beautify our coastal lands and parks. Two projects include the Working Waterfront Mural by DAAS and a temporary exhibit, Sweet Contents + Under Wraps by Randy Walker.

To forever memorialize the works of art, we partnered to create two printed books for each separate project that will live on even after the artworks are finished. The books use shapes and visual cues from the artworks themselves to display the works in their glory.

Working Waterfront Mural

The Working Waterfront Mural was painted on the east side of a Pasha Group National Distribution Center building at the National City Marine Terminal. The mural celebrates the employees who work in the waterfront. The art book features a minimal design with pops of colors and shapes from the mural to both let the original artwork shine and highlight some of the murals unique qualities.
